QA: Why Is the Church So Judgmental?

QUESTION: Why is the church of Christ so judgmental, condemning everyone but themselves? - June 9, 2019

ANSWER: How can you see through the fog & smog of judgmental sinners and think condemnation is only coming from Christians?

1. It is NOT wrong to teach what is right. Moses taught Israelites that loving God means keeping His commandments and judgments.           (Deuteronomy 7:11-12Deuteronomy 11:1) In the Bible God has given His judgments about human behaviour. It is not judging to preach God's judgments, for we are not making that judgment ourselves (1 Corinthians 11:31-32). ...

2. Judging is wrong when we are harsher on others than we are on ourselves. (Luke 6:37Romans 2:1-2)...

Who's Guilty? - Mini Article Now Available

"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself” (Ezekiel 18:18-20). Clearly, the sins of the fathers shall not be imputed to their sons.

(1) If a son “shall not bear the guilt of the father,” then no one can “inherit Adam’s sin;”

(2) It is rejection of God’s Word to blame any people today for any “slavery” in the past! Sins of the past cannot justify present hatred and violence! Past lessons learned can promote better behavior in the present. Re-living past slights or hurts, only keeps old wounds fresh in an unloving manner. “Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins” (Proverbs 10:12). - 6-8-2021

Might Doesn't Make Right - Mini Article Now Available

Because the Media focuses on street mobs and their violence, people may ask, “Are they right?’’ God once warned: “You shall not follow a crowd to do evil.” (Exodus 23:2) Solomon’s wisdom said, “Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD, but the blameless in their ways are His delight. Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; but the posterity of the righteous will be delivered.” (Proverbs 11:20-21) A union of sinners, expressed as to “join forces” (literally, "hand to hand”), cannot overpower God's line of “righteousness”. God finds abominable everyone who teaches otherwise!    Proverbs 17:15: "He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.”  Let's join hands in what is right, and not be pressured into what's wrong! - October 15, 2020

Country Music Theology Mini Article

Many people, it seems, follow a “Country Music” Theology, rather than the Bible. “The Red Dirt Road,” for example, said, “I learned the path to Heaven is full of sinners and believers.”  Really? Psalm 1:5 says “sinners” are not “in the congregation of the righteous.” Jesus said He “did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Matthew 9:13). And the command is, “Cleanse your hands, you sinners” (James 4:8). By obeying Jesus Christ, “believers were increasingly added to the Lord” (Acts 5:14). Everyone will not be crowded into Heaven, according to Jesus, "for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it” (Matthew 7:13-14). God "now commands all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30), but not everyone will! “The red dirt road” is a Dead End!            - January 13, 2020
