When their government oppressed God's people, the Prophet Elijah asked the timid Israelites, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him" (1 Kings 18:21). Good people cannot survive in a society (or world!) by shrinking away from the inevitable choice: good or evil. Joshua challenged his people: “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15). Paul wrote there will be “the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel” (Romans 2:16). There will be “multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!” (Joel 3:14). The “cowardly” will burn in Hell with “all liars” and sinners (Revelation 21:8). - 9/5/2021
